Our tux baby
Meet Raspberry, our tuxedo baby. She chose us right when we needed her most.
This fur baby girl came into my life and my wife's life at a time when we really needed her. We are actively trying for a baby right now, and life has been tough lately. I have been a cat lover my entire life (there is a picture of me with barn cats in upstate New York that explains a lot about my obsession), but Raspberry is something completely different.
We got this little devil for free. We still need to get her a physical, check up on her general health whatnots, and get her spayed, but OMG—I have never been around a kitten who just completely assimilated herself into a home the way she has. I'm so used to a new cat coming home, finding the tightest spot they can crawl into, and staying there for a week before venturing out.
Nope... not this little baby. From day one, she was exploring, climbing the walls, and fully invested. Part of me believes that is because I refused to take her until she was of proper age and had spent enough time with her mother. I wouldn't allow it any earlier—not for our favor, but for her own development.
She is just amazing. She is polydactyl, so she has about an extra 1/3 paw on each of her front paws, and she actually uses them like thumbs! She is so sweet, loving, and adorable. But, she is in her terrible twos right now and finds joy climbing tapestry until she is too high off the ground and gets scared at 3am 😂I can tell she still misses her mama sometimes because she has even nursed on me while asleep in my lap, but to me, that's just a sign that she got to nurse with her mom to fruition. She is such a blessing in our home and we love her immensely.
