adding onto my other post- TW spoiled for skull!!

i added more photos, and i’ll try to explain better this time

so two of these skulls are coyote, a human and an unknown species (just searched up animal skull)

in the middle of the jaw there is a line, and usually the jaw is split in half from that spot. why is that and what is the purpose of the line? does it make it more weak in the spot?

skull of coyote(spoiler for skull!!)

why do coyotes (as example) have a line on the bottom of their jaw? and why is it that many predator mammals in general have a very “split in half” skull? where it is often found with the two jaw sides away from each other or just unattached.

is there a name or purpose for it ? if so what is it ?

possible tw, parents fighting mentioned

so like i don’t know how to properly comfort her during this because i’ve never dealt with it personally so i don’t want to say the wrong thing, but basically her mom and her husband have been fighting a lot and my friend, who we’ll call sarah, has two little sisters (i think) and they always get scared and cry when the parents fight. my friend and her oldest little sister also try to intervene and stop them but it does no good and the parents are hitting eachother, so they aren’t just verbal fights.

the parents can’t divorce/wont because the house is the husbands, and the mom simply just doesn’t want to. my friend also has her little sisters going to her grandmas, but sarah is having to stay at her house to try and resolve drama. uhm she’s really scared because the husband apparently pulled a knife at her mom.

how do i comfort her? i want her to stay safe, so what do i do/say to make sure she does?

keep in mind she doesn’t go to my school!!
