Hi everyone, back again. Yes, we did setup a new space for our baby girl. She is also renamed from Amy to Possum because she looks like a possum in the face and we kept accidentally saying our daughter's name in reference to our hedgehog. Im here to ask what are some major differences, or minor, in a male and a female hedgehog. Ive noticed she seems to adjust her hide a lot whereas he will just wiggle into space to make it comfortable.

So I couldn't resist getting a second hog today. My first is a male rescue so I knew another male would result in a fight. He is 3+ and our first. The new hedgehog is a female roughly half his size. Like a fool I was too excited to ask her age but the people were very knowledgeable and gave me all kinds of other info on her and offered a card if I had questions. Still I wanted to ask reddit some questions anyway.

I did some research on the hedgehog breeding and now I cant tell if Sonic (male) is trying to mate with Amy (female and just Amy as my daughter is Rose). He has been squeaking since we got her. Right now as I type hes buried under my arm on the couch squeaking and shes in the new enclosure sleeping i believe. He was squeaking around her but now shes no where near him and hes still squeaking so is he just curious?
