Different campuses have different coverage realities. Here's what we know from students who've used Unlimit Mobile at these institutions. We'll keep updating this as we get more reports.
UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO (St. George, Scarborough, Mississauga)
Coverage: Excellent across all three campuses and downtown Toronto corridors. Indoor coverage in older buildings (Robarts Library, Sidney Smith) is strong on TELUS.
Student tip: The TTC subway has spotty coverage underground — this is the same for all carriers including direct TELUS postpaid.
UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO
Coverage: Strong in Waterloo and Kitchener. Research Park area and uptown Waterloo excellent. Some rural areas around campus perimeter are 4G rather than 5G.
Student tip: Lots of Indian students here — if you have issues, there's a strong student community who can help troubleshoot.
UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA (Vancouver)
Coverage: Main campus excellent. Point Grey neighbourhood strong. Transit routes to downtown Vancouver fully covered.
Student tip: UBC's campus is large — make sure your eSIM is installed and working before you arrive, as the international house WiFi gets congested during orientation week.
MCMASTER UNIVERSITY (Hamilton)
Coverage: Hamilton downtown and campus covered. Some areas near the escarpment are 4G. GO Transit routes to Toronto fully covered.
YORK UNIVERSITY (Toronto)
Coverage: Keele campus strong. Glendon campus strong. TTC access corridors covered.
FOR USA STUDENTS:
We have coverage at major Indian student destinations including:
New Jersey (Rutgers), Illinois (UIUC), Texas (UT Austin, Texas A&M), Georgia (Georgia Tech), California (UC system), and more. Drop your university in the comments and we'll reply with specifics.
Going to a university not listed here? Comment below we'll add it. If you've already arrived and want to share a coverage report, that's even more useful for students coming after you.
