Hi all! I’ve stalked about every thread I could find on this topic but I need some specific advice for my situation.

Some background: Our boy is 7.5 months old and goes to daycare Monday, Wednesday, Friday. I have almost 300 oz in our freezer currently. He takes a bottle no problem and will also drink formula. When home with me, he nurses exclusively. He’s staring solids and loves to eat. He tends to be a snacker, especially when he’s teething or sick. He usually sleeps 7-8pm to 5-6am.. some days giving me the full 12hrs between his last feed the night before and when he wakes up in the morning.

My dilemma is planning for my goals.. I would like to be down to him only nursing morning and night at 10 months old and completely done by 1yr. I’m not sure how I accomplish this when he’s not going to daycare every day. Currently I’m pumping 2-3 times the days he’s at daycare (he’s usually there 6-7 hours total) but the days he’s home, he seems to nurse more often. As I said, he is a snacker though so when I pump, I feel like I empty myself more than he does when he nurses sometimes. How do I get him into more of a schedule with nursing so that we can work towards weaning and dropping some feeds? I am willing to use up my freezer stash but I don’t like the idea of having to give him bottles myself when he’s home AND pump. i don’t know if it’s my brain still not functioning or what but I cannot figure out how to accomplish this without it being all or nothing.

I appreciate any and all advice from anyone who maybe was in a similar position or just has better ideas!
