Itchy Spot

I’ve had itching right at the vaginal opening for over a year now. It started on the left side, then moved to the right. It comes and goes, which is really frustrating, and it actually stops during my period. I’ve tried things like cotton underwear, loose clothes, and sleeping without underwear. I’ve seen multiple doctors. I had external vulvar eczema before, which was treated and went away, but the internal itching never really did. It sometimes disappears for a few weeks, then comes back.

STDs and yeast infections have been ruled out. I also tried antihistamines since I have mild histamine intolerance, but that did not solve it. Lactic acid bacteria help temporarily, but once I stop, it returns.

This started after a hookup about a year ago, so I wonder if maybe a small tear triggered it. The area sometimes looks a bit red and swollen. It is not constant pain, but if I scratch, it gets sore. Lichen was also ruled out. Doctors do not really have answers and I am stuck. Has anyone experienced something similar
