Hi! I’m an incoming freshman and I’m really torn between my options right now.
Ever since high school, I’ve dreamed of studying Architecture at UST. I even passed the USTET for SHS before, but wasn’t able to enroll due to financial reasons. When I reached Grade 11, I started exploring other paths and became interested in Civil Engineering as well.
My plan was to take both the MPASS (for CE) and USTET (for Architecture), and thankfully, I passed both. Now I’m stuck choosing between Architecture at UST and Civil Engineering at Mapúa because I really like both courses. I also applied for Civil Engineering at UST but didn’t pass, even though my scores in Math, English, and Science were high because the Mental Ability part pulled me down. My dad suggested I try to appeal, so that’s another option I’m considering.
Honestly, I’m not 100% sure what I really want yet, and the reservation deadline is already on May 5, so I’m feeling pressured.
I’d really appreciate hearing from:
- UST Architecture students
- UST Civil Engineering students
- Mapúa Civil Engineering students
- Architects and Civil Engineers
How’s the college experience in your school? What should I expect from the program? And for those already working, how is your career now?
Any advice or insights about MAPUA or UST or the courses would really help me make this decision. Thank you so much!
