I’ve always wanted to create a soap that hangs right next to the sink—something that is both beautiful and practical. This particular one is a cold-process soap shaped like a cherry blossom; I threaded some natural hemp twine through it so it can be hung directly from the faucet or a hook. No more dealing with sticky, slimy soap dishes—plus, hanging the soap allows it to dry exceptionally well.

Getting the coloring right was the trickiest part. I was aiming for a soft pink hue with a subtle, almost ethereal white gradient fading toward the tips of the petals. In the end, I used a small amount of pink French clay and poured the mixture into the mold at a very light trace, allowing the layers to blend and diffuse naturally.

It’s not perfect—the twine feels a little loose—but honestly, every time I wash my hands now, I feel a little spark of simple joy.

I’d love to hear if anyone else has been experimenting with hanging soaps or uniquely shaped bars. Also, does anyone know of a way to prevent the hemp twine from gradually wicking moisture back into the soap over time? I’d really appreciate any tips or shared experiences!
