I was baptised as an infant (around one years old) however I wasn’t raised catholic at all, but i recently confirmed into the church when I found my home within it.

I saw someone discussing cradle Catholics and while I consider myself a convert, would I be considered a cradle Catholic because I was officially baptised into the church as an infant?

Or are cradle Catholics people who were baptised and raised within the church?

I have been biting my nails since I was around 10 and I’ve tried in the past to stop, but I’ve finally kicked the habit (I hope).

Hi everyone,

I was asked today by a family friend to guide her on having a new baby baptised (yay).

However, she is for lack of a better work, a little bit ditzy. She is very well intentioned, however for things like this she will need someone to hold her hand through the whole process or she won’t follow through.

I am the only baptised, confirmed and practicing Catholic she knows and she has said I can be the God parent as this is mandatory.

She said she intends on raising the baby Catholic within Catholic schools, taking him to church ect, but a part of me doesn’t think this is true.

I don’t think she is lying by any means at all, I just don’t think she will follow through.

Would it be immoral to decline to be the baby’s God parent because of this, or am I being to nervous?

I want to support her and maybe this is what she needs to return to church (she was baptised and confirmed as a child).

Any advice would be appreciated
