Hey all, I am 35 and never had a period. I was told in my teenage years that my hormones are whacky, but nothing to be done.

Last summer, all my symptoms (weight gain, cravings, no period, anxiety, depression, sleep apnea, facial hair) had come together and made me so miserable. I learned what PCOS is about and dug into all the new research, suggesting that it's a metabolic disease.

I have almost no supper except a doctor prescribing metformin, but am blessed with the smartest and most compassionate partner, helping me change our lives in sustainable ways.

And guess what? It's paying off big time. For the first time in my life I had an actual period in February. I was anxious for it to return, because it seems like a miracle and sign that my efforts are working. Today it returned and although periods are messy and painful, I am so grateful that I was able to learn and change and get better.

10 months into learning about myself:

- started having a period

- lost 35kg/77lbs

- relieved myself from constant food noise and cravings (they are now much rarer and lighter)

- live without crazy anxiety and horrible depression.

I am so happy and grateful, also to you guys for being a resource, sharing your experience and inspiring me.

Hey guys,

How do you deal with cravings? I currently suffer from strong cravings. They usually come in waves/phases and I find it very challenging to ride them out.

Do you have any tips or tricks on how to curb them?

Thank you already 🌷
