I'm worried that since John will be the main GL instead of Hal, it'll end up like the problem the MCU has with Hulk(obviously not to the same degree due to the lack of legal restrictions)

By that I mean iconic GL stories centered around/heavily involving Hal will happen either off-screen or to other characters.
