Second guessing euthanasia

Hey all. My parent’s golden, Gracie, is currently 9 years old and struggling with a torn ACL in one leg and hip dysplasia in the other. This makes it so she can barely hobble around and needs assistance to go outside. She still seems happy, and gets excited to see people, and will prop herself up on her front legs to greet people. It’s taken them a while to schedule the home euthanasia visit, and now my dad is second guessing things. He says things like “who am I to choose if she dies” or “they don’t do this to people” which I say people can express pain levels, and maybe the dog cannot. I suppose I just want to hear opinions, and if it’s the right time or not. She still eats and drinks fine, no sores, but is gaining weight quickly due to the lack of activity. They also give her sympathy treats which doesn’t help. Does anyone have any advice I can relay to help them with this? Thank you.
