170k Ford escape 2008 3.0. Got it in a trade so basically free. It threw cat codes and i ended up pulling the cat to gut it and am now in the process of replacing the pcv valve, vcgs, spark plugs and tune up as well as a brake job. I will have to pull the manicats to do the same so i was wondering since ill have to do the work anyhow if i want a working vehicle anytime soon, is it worth it to buy new o2 sensors and cats for this vehicle? The cats going bad was likely due to a misfire which im hoping will be fixed with the new plugs etc. Aside from looking to see behind the wheelwells (havent properly checked yet) what should i look for? Should i just say screw it and throw it back together and take whatever i can get for it with gutted cats? Aside from the failed cat i drove it for a few months and it seemed just fine to me. It had an oil leak that i kept topping off but having removed the valve cover its not gunked up or anything
