Sorry, this is long.

I've been having weird symptoms for about 15 years. Brain fog, memory issues, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, buzzing feeling in hands and feet, the list goes on. Everyone, including myself, have tried to convince me that it's caused by anxiety and stress. And sure, it does make me anxious, which makes it hard to figure out what's the real issue.

2016 I started getting aura migraines, very little pain but weird visual symptoms and half body numbness. Did some tests but was told that there was nothing that could be done.

When I was pregnant, I felt a lot better. Migraines disappeared completely. I thought it was all hormonal, but in hindsight I suppose it could be because I was diligently taking my vitamins, maybe in combination with hormones.

After pregnancy, symptoms have been creeping back over the past few years, reaching a peak a few weeks ago. I read somewhere that taking b12 might help with migraines and took it for about 4-5 days. I then read up further on b12 and felt everything fall into place. Looked at my lab report from 2016 and saw that my homocysteine was 34,4 µmol/L. The doctor I saw then never followed up on this, I hadn't seen the report before. I stopped taking B12 and went to see a different doctor.

This doctor is VERY sure everything's in my head, since my anemia tests came back normal. I've gotten referrals to physio and a psychologist. The old lab report is just a strange coincidence that probably means nothing. She finally agreed to test for b12 deficiancy: "We can do the test if it makes you feel better, but it's not going to show anything".

I took the test about 2 weeks after I stopped taking b12.

P—Homocystein: 22 mikromol/L, Ref: <15

P—Cobalamin: 360 pmol/L, Ref: 150-650, Grey area: <250

P—Folate: 16 nmol/L, Ref: >7

I haven't heard back from the doctor yet, but I feel pretty sure she will try to convince me everything is fine.

My own interpretation is that the few pills I took before the test probably made the numbers look better than what they really are. I have also been feeling better, but symptoms are coming back now.

Where do I go from here? Should I keep trying to convince my doctor, or do I just try to treat it on my own? Or is this all in my head?
