Contender Peach Tree in Southern New York

Hi there. I am thinking of planting two contender peach trees in my home in New York State. I am wondering a few things:

- Do you have this variety? How does it taste? My worst nightmare is planting a fruit tree and getting mealy/not good fruit!

- Is this tree a lot more upkeep than the other trees? I have a bunch of cherry trees and crab apple trees and then many, many non-fruit trees but I am wondering about how much work to expect and how much fussing over this tree will be required for an actual large fruit tree.

- Do you recommend a non-farmer plant fruit trees? What are the actual pros and cons to having a fruit tree that will need more care than the other plants in our yard?

Thanks for your thoughts here!
