I was admitted to UC Berkeley as a transfer, but I’m running into an issue with my conditions of admission.
I’m missing one class (WRIT 030) to complete UC Reciprocity. When I tried to register for it in Spring, all sections were already full by my registration time, so I enrolled in it for Summer instead.
Berkeley told me that WRIT 030 must be completed by the end of Spring, and that I’m not allowed to take both the required chemistry course and WRIT 030 during the summer.
Right now I’m:
- working with my academic advisor
- reaching out to WRIT 030 professors for a possible late add
- looking into a community college course (ends July 1)
I’ve also contacted Berkeley to ask if the CC course would be acceptable, but I’m still waiting to hear back.
Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any advice on what I can do? Is there any chance they make exceptions or allow alternatives in cases like this?
