New homeowner looking for ideas to make my living room feel more cozy and welcoming!

Hey guys, new homeowner here and trying to make my living room feel a little more cozy and welcoming. I’m a 37-year-old single guy, and I feel like the space is okay but still kind of missing something.

I’m not really sure what to do with the tall black piece to the right of the TV — I basically just left it there for now. Would love some honest suggestions on what I could add, change, or remove to make the room feel more finished without making it too cluttered.

Open to ideas on lighting, rugs, art, plants, furniture, or anything else that would help warm it up. Appreciate any advice!

Edit: I know a lot of people are focusing on the TV height, but can we look past that for a second? I get that I made a mistake there, and I’ve already learned from it for next time.
