Which hip should I fix first?
I'm a 56F and tried to get a THR over 5 years ago. Denied because of my age, but went to see another doctor two years ago and he said he'd do it. I kicked the can to have one more summer of surfing (last summer) and there never is a convenient time to do it. Anyway, now that I'm scheduling for this July on my right hip, my left hip is in more pain than my right one. The new doc said I would need to replace both, but I didn't expect this so soon. So, my questions to this group are: 1. How soon can I schedule the second surgery (it would be great to get it in within the same calendar year to not have to pay another deductible), 2. Which hip should I do first? The one that has been painful but I've now learned to live with, or the freshest pain that hurts the most?
