I was inspired by animals killing and eating their mutt to avoid starvation in times of desperation. This poem tells of a family eating the oldest brother out of desperation when he returns from the hunt empty handed.
There is a line where his bones scatter like a divination, but I can’t decide what to make the divination reading be.
I think I want it to be a statement on poor people starving to death while rich eat freely, but I don’t know how to say it without it sounding corny.
“The bones of my brother
scatter, a divination reading
___________”
