VH-14 digital hihats not great in SD3

So I have set the SD3 preset to the td50x in superior drummer 3 even though I have the TD 27 and calibrated the hihat, using all the things in the module and under the settings in SD3 and selected a preset kit in SD3 making a minor tweak swapping out a kick drum, but there’s still a HH articulation that is loud for some reason and it’s the one that is “not mid mapped” but also when I wanna play like loud sizzle half open hats like in the middle of a rock song where they’re kind of half open, but I’m hitting it moderate- hard It just kind of falls apart. Also, the transitions between the articulations are really not smooth. These digital hats are really not impressive. I must be doing something wrong.

Also, I seem to be getting machine gunning on the digital snare. The low velocity hits are really quite loud and machine gun sounding even though I only have the velocity curve in the modules set to log1.

Maybe I need to build a kit from scratch in superior drummer three or something is it possible that they articulations and the kit preset that I’m using are not doing what I want or something?

Evan’s Sensory Percussion w/new cymbal triggers

So I just saw kind of a deeper dive with Wilco‘s drummer on this recently updated system, and I mean, it seems pretty outstanding. I mostly would just want to use all of the crazy zones to just get a rich authentic playing feel and authentic trigger sound for acoustic drum sounds but eventually could totally see myself adding more drum & bass effected sounds and synth sounds and stuff. The metal low vol cymbals that the kit comes with apparently are tuned and specifically designed to work perfectly right out of the box with the cymbal and hihat sensors. Does anyone here have any experience using this for making a a-e mesh head kit with low vol cymbals sound like a real acoustic kit?

SD3 on M2 Max MBP audio output

If the main plus of using an external audio interface with an MBP (which already has a really good DAC to output audio from) is lower latency, but I’m already easily getting the lowest latency available ln SD3 and immediate sounds when hitting drums, I don’t need to get one, right? The TD27 has a built in audio interface which I could use to output audio from after I send the midi back to it from the MacBook Pro/SD3, but, why? The MBP send a line level which I just convert to 1/4” from the 1/8” jack MBP output. Is there an audio quality upgrade somehow that I’m missing? Why would one add another thing in the chain?
