Hello to CachyOS!

After finally building my first ever PC. I installed Cachyos and it feels amazing! It’s a lot snappier and quick to respond unlike Windows 11 I’m still making small steps of installing things I want/need, and ricing it soon-ish enough while setting up rmpc for local music player [if I fail, Ill use strawberry instead lol]. I’m dual-booting between windows 11 and Cachyos because of things not fully compatible yet in linux, and I’ll be taking my time getting comfortable at mostly using Cachyos but Im so happy to be here!! I can’t wait to rice it and do so much! :D

Hello! I would like to inquire some things I should do beforehand! I’ll be building a new PC very soon and I’ll love to be using CachyOS as my main OS whilst dual booting for Windows on games/apps cannot be used yet for now. Here are some questions I would like to ask and to follow them to make sure I can get most things working properly. I’m very new to Linux but I’m determined in CachyOS as I like it the most out of other distros (Bazzite/Fedora, etc)

  1. Any guides and Tutorials on enabling the compatibility layers such as Wine, Proton. Any alternatives for other stuff in case?

  2. Any recommendations on playing games that are outside of Steam? Launchers was it called?

  3. If I run into issues where I cannot play certain games in Steam (despite rating clarify they are playable), is there any commands I should know beforehand to enable?

  4. Very niche question but I’ll like to also know how to wine Clip Studio EX since I’m an artist!!

  5. What’s the most recommended bootloader I could use and customise the menu of for funsies?

I’ll like to know how to set up a lot of things from beforehand, related to gaming wise and using Wine to get some apps going. I do know that Adobe apps, newer Sony vegas pro, etc are Unusable for now until gpu passthrough and acceleration are added. Hence the dual-booting to use them on windows then going back to my usual OS! :]

the only things I have noted that I cannot use are Adobe AfterEffect[until said are implemented]. Sony Vegas Pro[will be replaced by KdenLive tbh]. Roblox [until they port it + I don’t wanna use Sober].

I’m very willing to learn lots of things as I know linux will have a learning curve but I am determined and I really REALLY enjoy CachyOS the most hence why I would love to join it
