21 year old male, heavily active, very health and diet conscious, very high cholesterol
I recently got blood work done for the first time in my life and everything seems to be very normal aside from my cholesterol which my doctor described as “severely elevated”. For background, I am 21 years old in college, 6’0 and around 170 lbs. I am super active, lift 5-6 days a week and do an hour of cardio everyday. I try to be pretty strict about my diet which is usually centered around lean protein sources, unsaturated fats for the most part, complex carb sources, fruits, vegetables, etc. I got referred to talk to a dietitian a couple months ago, and was advised that I cut my egg consumption (which was previously sitting around 24 eggs weekly), so I have not eaten an egg since. I really want to get to the bottom of this, and especially eat eggs again because of the taste and benefits. Do you all think I should be concerned for my future risk of heart disease etc? Again, I am super healthy for the most part and take care of myself well. I would greatly appreciate feedback, thanks!
