NYC JOB MARKET
What is entirely wrong with the job market ? This is extremely demoralizing and depressive. I don’t get how the rent is so high in New York and there are no jobs hiring. Literally none. I’ve been applying to jobs since the summer of 2025 and probably got like two interviews. Over 1000 applications. At all job levels. There needs to be a rent freeze until things are regulated. It seems like over time NYC has begun to cater to only high earners making 6 figures or more. There are no job’s actively hiring. They’ll invite you for an interview based off your qualifications in your resume and email you stating they found someone more qualified or might even ghost you. If I wasn’t qualified why would you waste my time and have me come for an interview. At this point I’m considering applying for a job in another state even without housing figured out. This is ridiculous. To anyone job searching out there that doesn’t have 6 figure skill set as of yet I wish you the best of luck.
