Chronic Shortness of Breath - Veterans

Hi everyone.

Just curious.. Have any of you been suffering from chronic shortness of breath?

I've been diagnosed and have had it basically weekly since 2019. It started off only twice a year around 2012 but increased to chronic the last 8 years. Sometimes it'll last a couple days. Sometimes I have a good couple of weeks without it. I've done pulmonary test, x-rays, blood tests. The doctors can't find anything.

It triggers anytime. When I'm relaxed at home drinking a beer. When I'm eating dinner with my family. And especially when I'm sleeping. I'm constantly having to switch positions. I've learned to live with it but it sucks! It's so frustrating, and I'm so tired.

I was in the Army from 2000-2004. Combat Engineer. I did engage in combat in the Iraq invasion 2003.

I guess it's just really bad anxiety, but maybe it's not. Can anyone relate? Is it gulf war syndrome?

Thanks

Sleep Apnea VA

Good morning everyone,

Looking for insight or advice.. I was prescribed a CPAP machine earlier this year for sleep apnea. I got out the Army 20yrs ago. I'm a combat veteran from Iraq 2003. The VA acknowledged me being in a TERRA location and exposure to burn pits, explosives, and dust storms. I was also diagnosed with ptsd 2025, and chronic shortness of breath since 2019.

I'm exactly the same weight since I left the military. Will that make it harder for me to get connected for sleep apnea? Im not obese but I have OSA. I'm also diagnosed with alcohol use disorder.

Should I link it to Terra or mental health? Or alcohol use disorder?

Thank you!

Hi vets. Quick question about my foot pain / VA disability claim..

I was diagnosed by my podiatrist at Kaiser Permanente a couple months ago with chronic bilateral foot neuropathy, plantar fasciitis, and flat feet.

I was also diagnosed with flat feet by the VA back in 2010 but never knew I could file a claim.

I got out the Army a long time ago in 2004. Combat Engineer. I've had bad feet and have been buying orthopedic inserts for over 17 years.

Last year I filed my first VA disability claim and was granted 50% for ptsd with alcohol use disorder.

I'm not overweight. Just 160lbs but have jacked up feet.

Can I win a foot claim after being out so long, and claim it Secondary to alcohol use disorder because of it being bilateral foot neuropathy?
