Has anybody had a head gasket done here? What did it cost?

Looking to get a rough idea of price for a head gasket replacement in QT. Will it be triple the cost of elsewhere in NZ or do prices level out for a big job like that?

My EJ25 Outback is still on the stock composite gaskets. Touch wood they have not failed internally yet, they are seeping oil externally which is then burning off somewhere. Without a swap to some nice new MLS gaskets I worry her days are numbered. Obviously this will not be economical at all, I’ve fallen into the trap of caring about the car.

Lots of old Subies around here, people have got to be taking them somewhere 😄
