Question about synthetic progestin
Hi, I am post menopausal and I am currently taking estradiol with a synthetic progestin called Norethindrone . I tried the micronized oral progesterone and it made me feel very drowsy and unable to function very well because of that. I am concerned cause I keep reading that the synthetic progesterones can cause breast cancer. I also hear this on YouTube by the functional medicine people especially saying that it is important to take the natural micronized form not the synthetic one. I would appreciate any feedback on this as far as whether or not this is true as the increase risk of breast cancer scares me. I would like to find a way to take the natural micronized form but so far that hasn't worked for me. I really wish they would come up with a progesterone patch or a cream that can get absorbed through a skin.
