Navigating ch13 with a subpar lawyer

Currently in year two of a (now extended to) 5 year ch13. My lawyer is not particularly helpful, and talks in circles a lot. I am currently making payments about 1500 a month, I got a new job paying about 8 an hour more, and I took some 401k distributions for various things totaling about 10k last year (2025). The trustee has filed for a motion to dismiss and she said that to “make the motion go away and be a 100% payback” it would go up to 623 weekly, almost 2500 a month.

I feel like that amount is insane and it’s not the first time it’s gone up a ton. I’ve seen the breakdown and besides my mortgage going up from tax increases (not a whole lot mind you) it’s only trustee and her fees.

Need some advice here. At 2500 it is more than I was paying for the loans that I filed on, and if I could renegotiate I’d be ahead in that aspect honestly.
