TBHX Reference in Link Click

I don't think this was ever pointed out or mentioned. The only TBHX reference I remembered that was mentioned in Link Click was the posters in the anime club and conventions.

But whatever school they going to have what seems to be the X logo on their basketball jersey. Crazy how this been a thing since Bridon arc and I just now notice it in the new season.

Link Click take place in X city? /j.

Ah Family

u/dncyun I shall continue the Link Click-TBHX family tree.

Dncyun Luoli's family tree

The new season 3 Link Click character name finally got revealed and it turns out to be Ā(阿), which happens to be the same surname as the TBHX Ah family.

After seeing this, I realize Sheng and Qiu surnames are the same which is quite different compare to the other couples in the show like Zhang Lan/Wang Yi and Li Yan/Luo Tong.

There were also theories that Ah Qiu is from a native/tribal family mainly due to the red markings on LJ. So with her family potentially wanting to carry out their tradition/culture and patrilineal heritage, Sheng marry into Qiu's family name.

There are other Link Click-TBHX family tree that can be made like Liu Xiao to Liu Yuwei, but I don't think there is anything to discover or talk about.

Could Luo Li become a hero without her suit?

I think it is possible, but she will just end up being a different character. From the Ahu arc interview, it seem like someone have to be able to believe in themselves to accept the trust from others. Luo Li's strong want to be seen as strong and not just cute could have prevented or rejected possible trust for only of her cuteness. So if Luo Li just fully accept being only cute without any thoughts of wanting to be strong, she might be able to build a lot of trust from that if she put herself out there using FOMO.

After she become a "hero", she could have her marketing change enough where it will allow her to be able to fight, but that still be quite difficult to do as being seen as cute is almost always seen as harmless, defenseless, and needs protecting. So I guess, she might ended up having powers where people don't want to harm her and/or she can force people to fight for her in order to protect her.

Basically it is possible for her to be a hero, but just not in the way the Luo Li we know would have wanted it, as she look up to Queen and is a big advocate of justice, so having powers that only protects her and not others is not fitting for her character.

Thinking about this made me like Luo Li's character more because if she did had this easy way into become a "hero" and didn't take it, it further shows she don't care about fame or conforming to the system as much as her own personal wants.

Had to stop myself here, I almost went on a rant on why she my favorite character, but this not what the post is about, so I will stop.

Alien or Not?

I have thoughts about him being an alien due to his transformation, but I now start reflecting and thinking about people talking about some form of duality with him. From him being the only one with 2 cards in the op, his shadow not moving or delayed, and his main theme being almost a call and response.

What if instead of being an alien, he was experimented on and fused with one instead. The markings or tattoos on him are actually from the alien, either it's own skeletal structure or other defining features. His parents or researchers probably try to drown him to test his new body. I can't see them experimenting on his limits if he was a normal human with little to no trust value.

Maybe the whole duality aspect of Dragon boy could be him and the alien fighting control over the body and the transformation is probably maybe a swap of the alien being in control when Dragon boy near death or start struggling mentally/emotionally. The reason we probably can't tell the difference in personality is probably due to them being one and the same now, adapting and understanding how the other feels and act.

Or we can boring and simplified the duality theory and say Dragon boy could just be bipolar or hiding his true, insecure side under the facade he puts on.

Who got more aura in their snap?

The girl is Sayeon from "Hand Jumper" if anyone interested. When she snaps, she can go back in time.

Queen's Goal? Overturning trust? Creating a new order?

Queen's own words was to overturn trust and create a new order for it, yet I keep seeing people say her goal is dismantle or destroy the trust system. Her hero name is Queen for a reason, if anything I think her goal is change how trust works.

I think Queen's goal is to add or change the rules of how the trust system currently work to:

a. when you obtain powers or a high amount of trust, you be in a contract of intentional harm or destruction will automatically drop your trust value. Basically rules that will enforces good behavior and "great powers comes with great responsibility" ideals.

b. any other rules that will make sense to implement (in the comments suggest what rule to add to the trust system to prevent corrupt heroes)

The only time I can see Queen destroying the trust system is if after implementing her rules, people constantly find and abuses loop holes in it where she feel like it is better to just get rid of trust.

She can also just go full dictator route and just choose who get to be a hero and who don't, but as someone who likes Queen, I don't want to see this edgy and cringe idea. I rather her have some of judicial system and consult other people that she trust when setting up rules to add to the trust system to better have order and peace, as well tie nicely to her character development of being able to lean on others.

I might do a discussion post on all the Top 11 and will do them in order to better remember which post I should do next. So, Dragonboy is next.

Is X fast?

Nothing in the show proves that he is or isn’t fast. The only thing we got is him moving at normal speed, dodging attacks and snapping effortlessly.

X is not fast, he just abuse physics.

Let’s start with his dodging. How can he dodge so effortlessly? The law of Inertia (yes pun on his ost) states once an object in motion it is resistant to any change, so once X predict or notice how they coming at him, he dodge or parry based on that as the probability or even ability to change direction is very miniscule.

Further breakdown on understanding movement or combat movement. I know there was this Naruto episode that explain it well, it was the episode of Might Guy teaching his students about this. For example let say someone try to kick you with their left leg and miss. What would their next movement be? It most likely them trying to catch their balance. After that? Take a step toward you to punch or try to kick you with their right leg after placing their left leg down. But there are 2 options now? Not necessarily, after their first kick (recovery and change of movement takes time), you have the option to move and place yourself accordingly to limit their options. That is why X mainly on the defensive, he waits, catch an opening then make a decision.

Next is him finger snapping before anyone can get a hit. Research shows that snapping is one of the fastest movements a human body can make (Source). X is not fast, the process and ability of finger snapping is.

X have shown no speed feats except that of his mind. Finger snapping doesn’t count as that is already a fast movement in itself. X just use logic to make the requirement for his powers something really quick and almost effortless. The reason behind the snap almost parallel with his work life, he want to be up and out of there quickly and he don’t want put in extra effort by working overtime. Not outright saying X is slow, but more of saying there is almost no evidence of him being fast either.

X is a quick, perceptive, and logical thinker (logician just like his MBTI). He think about what his next movement should be, he keeping track of what is happening around him, and act accordingly to the understanding of how movement works rather than reacting reflexively, urgently, or as quickly as possible. No rush, just calm, collected, and calculative movement.

This somehow became a character breakdown as well instead of just simple power scaling, lol.

Was it that surprising or out of nowhere reveal?

I remember this episode aired, a lot of people find this out of the blue or an asspull. There is some people who first assumption went to X being the alien over Big Johnny. Then when episode 19 came around and the research squad was looking for alien samples, there some people who had the audacity to say how the research squad didn't know Big Johnny was an alien, when some of y'all acted like he wasn't an alien when y'all thought the alien reveal was out nowhere. Even though, episode 11 have a strange cat and episode 12 had a kaijuu, wdym there is no prior knowledge or buildup, you meant to put 2 and 2 together.

I want hear your thoughts on this reveal and the discussions that were had at the time, I feel like most of takes of the reveal being out of the blue stem from people just not liking Luo Li's arc and just want to criticize almost anything they can. For those you think it was an out of nowhere reveal, I want to hear your reasoning and what should have been differently (For example, possibly LJ's arc first or the story being in chronological order?).

Most people associate them with positive and negative emotions, which is somewhat correct but not 100% or explain the naming conventions.

Both trust and fear are psychological factors that can make somebody susceptible to being control or manipulated. Most times you will listen to a parent or older/authoritative figure because you trust them. If you being held at gunpoint you will listen to that person, fearful of what they going to do if you don't.

It fits with what we seen of the show, the more trust or fear you have, the less control you will have over your self. Also, the way trust and fear works is similar to a psychological idea/concept of "locus of control":

  • The trust system have a more external locus of control as it is heavily reliant on your environment (people's perception and willingness to give you trust)
  • The fear system have a more internal locus of control as you have more control over creating your own fear particles through your own negative emotions. Also, I believe in the show, somebody mentions how fear is easier to manage, use, or control than trust.

The trust system in TBHX is closer to celebrity or idol culture, which I think most of us know by now. Once you create a image or a reputation on something, your fans will mainly know or want you to keep doing that. If you stray away from this image they have of you, they could be displeased and no longer be a fan.

The fear system is hard to gauge on what aspect they take it from as there are multiple mental illness involving fear. However, if I have to say, it is mainly based on the fight or flight response factor, more particularly the fight aspect. Most to all of the times, when people are affected by fear they will almost immediately go on a rampage or try to attack something. But, realistically almost any aspect or concept of fear would make sense in relations to the Fear system, whether it is PTSD, insecurity, paranoia, and etc.
