How a standup freezer helped my pmos
Hello,
first of all I know this sucks. I struggled so badly for 24 years and through trial and error this is what I have learned.
I had the worst sugar addiction annd everyone kept telling me to cut out sugar. I was wondering how that was possible since sugar is in everything. I would eat it and I would want more. Weight loss seemed impossible.
Here is what I did To help me.
- I bought a standup freezer.
- I started cooking everything from scratch pretty much. I make 3x as much food when I do cook.
- I saved all my old plastic takeout containers. (I had like 50 of them I didn’t know what to do with) if you don’t have this, you can buy some containers. Ziplock containers work well too, if you have those on hand.
- I cooked, I ate, and portioned out leftovers in my old containers dated and put the name the meal on them and froze them. on the days I cook I make 2 or 3 different meals. I make soups with lentils and split peas with a tomato base, or leek and potato soup (i love soups) or healthy tuna casserole with homemade einkorn noodles.
- when I need to cook now I take out a meal, pop it out of the container, pop it on a ceramic plate, and pop it in the microwave. (I don’t cook it in the plastic . It has saved me so much money, my sugar addiction is gone, my grocery bill went down because cooking from scratch is cheaper. since I have been doing this for 3 years (I keep reusing the same containers, I have lost 30 lbs. my facial hair is mostly gone, and my belly went down by a lot.
- side benefit: I have so much less waste because cooking from scratch is the most eco friendly way to cook.
Also i switched to einkorn flour which is wheat before it hybridized I get my flour online from Anita’s mill online. I bout the whole grain einkorn flour, and I like it just as much as the old unbleached all purpose flour I used before. It doesn’t have that whole wheat taste. idk.
I know it sounds simple. But I also don’t have sugar cravings like I used to. I think my sugar addiction is gone. After 3 years if I do eat something sugar, I can stop. I don’t have to eat the whole pan of brownie.
but it took me a while to get there.
