How Color Define your Factions

How do you define your factions with color ?

Something I been thinking about recently is how people choose the color and identity for the

Factions, nations or groups in their worldbuilding.

Do you usually go with the more stereotypical and symbolic colors ? Like gold for nobility, purple for magic, red for military and war, white for religion and purity and so on.

Or do you prefer to go against that and give them a more unusual or different color identity breaking away from the stereotypes.

I been having some difficulty deciding what colors I want to use for some of my own factions since I don’t know if I should stick with recognizable symbolism or try to do something more unique.

What is your World's Zeitgeist

What kind of zeitgeist/vibe does this worldbuilding setting give off to you?

It’s a fantasy world where magic is deeply tied to society, but people later discover it causes long-term biological and genetic harm. One faction industrializes and develops anti-magic technology, medicine, trains, autonomous machines, and centralized institutions, while another faction fully embraces magic as sacred and absolute.

I’m curious what historical eras, philosophies, aesthetics, or fictional works this atmosphere reminds people of.

And what does your world Vibes feels like I would like to know aswell. :)

How should you estimate the size of your world population ?

In the times I have been trying to write the world I made I tend to wonder, when you build a faction, Nation, institution or Kingdom and something resembling itself as an organization do you ever think of how much is this specific group has in their amout and population ?

For example, when I writing some of the lore in my world, it is playing in the realm of nation building and so there is question at the back of my mind "How big and how populous I should make this nation ?"

Should I follow the realistic path of the world and it should range itself in the millions, but if the time period I set this is following pre-modern era how much is it exactly ?

Or let say modeling it in that modern era or futuristic era, what number can we consider it to be appropriate, is it so many that it can lead to burden within your world or you make it in the amount where it wouldn't leave a crisis in your world ?

What are your thoughts on this, if you do have something to comment I would love to see it.

This is from my sci-fi/fantasy setting where two major powers, the Federation and the Empire of Magica, developed in opposition to each other over a shared issue: a congenital condition tied to magic.

There are other factions within the world here but for this specific part of the story I am focusing only on this two because of the fact they are the direct opposition of one another. Soooo

The Federation rejects magic and relies on technological solutions, while the Empire of Magica embraces it and attempts to adapt. For this part I want to try to justified how the Empire would approach this problem.

I'm tryna figure out if this approach would be the more understandble or atleast make more sense

Do you think adapting to magic like this is more believable than trying to suppress it And which approach feels more compelling ?

Here is a little fun tidbits of lore I made, when trying to make the Federation I thought on how would their system of findings and development would fit in a Fictional world and this is what I came out with.

Have a read and see what your feedbacks are.

So far when I have been trying to write the word I been making, I am starting to noticed that I am starting to have that Bias towards a Faction of one bit of lore.

I know it's not a good thing to do especially when writing and even if it's not to the point as creating that "Plot Armor" or doing wild thing that should not be fair in order to have them be either powerful or out of the struggles.

That I blindingly know is not good but what I can't seem to ignore is, that case where I feel lees motivated to Write and create the lore for the rest of the factions. Like it's less enjoyable and therefore I would just leave them on the back burner and focus on the stuff I want to write.

So in any case I wanted to see if there any opinions and feedbacks here that can be given.

Here is the continuation of the faction and nation that I am trying to write.

For this instance I am trying to Classify what do each faction's Philosophy or their core principle to exist are.

Do let me know if these fits or not

let me know if it does for or now
