For context, CSSA is the organization in charge of student advocacy for the CSU system. They just held elections for their student exec board today, and CSUS's current student president was in the running for their president role. This is a position that involves heavy lobbying and discussion with the California state government and the Governor's office.
For those unaware, CSUS's current student president was implicated in this scandal involving a $10K lawsuit: https://statehornet.com/2026/03/asi-luke-wood-sac-state-aranjot-kaur-board-election-rules-conduct-slate-coalition-campus-education-student-council-board-of-directors/
She is very much friendly with the university administration, and there's no telling what she would've done as CSSA president.
During the voting deliberations today, there was this back-and-forth going on where someone would bring up the aforementioned scandal and then one of her supporters (other CSU student representatives mind you, most of them presidents themselves) would either defend her or hand-wave it dismissingly. Honestly not a super promising look for the rest of the CSU student leadership as a whole.
When I say razor-thin, I mean it. Literally just ONE OR TWO people voting differently could've allowed her to snag it. A little scary but such is the nature of it.
