Toxic boss threatening to go to my new employer
Pretty much the title. I am leaving my current job, mostly because of the owner. It is a small business with 5 people including him. After giving him my notice he hit me with a barrage of insults for a little over 30 minutes. I made it a point to not tell him where I am going. Later on in the conversation, he threatened to go to my new employer and tell them I'm an awful employee if I so much as screw up one thing or my production takes a dip. He even caught himself right after and said that it would actually be illegal to do that. But he knows people, and they would look the other way for him. All of this was verbal without any witnesses. I want to know what my options are if things escalate during my final week. I have been documenting things he has said and all of my hours just in case.
