Looking for an apartment complex in Boston

Hi! I am looking for a 2 or 3 bed apartment complex in the city of Boston only. I am considering back bay, north end/west end, or any other area near the orange or green line. I would also consider the fenway area too.

My budget for a shared 2 bed is max 2.0K. Please let me know if anyone has any recommendations.

Moving to Boston, looking for apartment/complex recommendations

Moving to Boston, looking for apartment/complex recommendations

Hi all,

I'm relocating to Boston and would love some advice on finding a managed apartment/complex that doesn’t require a broker's fee. I understand that broker fees might be phasing out, but I’m still cautious.

What I'm Looking For:

  • Studio or 2 bed apartment
  • Budget: Up to $2000 or $2200/month
  • In-unit washer/dryer ideally
  • Amenities: Ideally a gym
  • Managed building/complexes with no broker fee
  • Safe area with grocery stores and walkable options
  • Commute: Office is at North End
    • Comfortable with:
      • <30 min by public transport
      • I’ve been recommended Back BaySouth End, and north end?

My Initial Shortlist from some Googling (thoughts welcome!):

  • Ink Block
  • 345 Harrison
  • Troy Boston
  • Avalon Exeter
  • 100 Pier 4
  • Watermark Seaport
  • Gables Seaport
  • Via Seaport
  • The Kensington

Would love input on these – particularly whether they hit the mark on vibe, safety, amenities, and commute. Would be great to knock some off this list/add other suggestions!

Process & Timing:

I start work on October 8th but won’t be in Boston until around September

  • Will I be too late to find something good, especially with the Sept 1st leasing rush?
  • Is it realistic to secure a place in one of these managed buildings shortly after arriving, or should I try to pre-lease remotely?

Final Questions:

  • How do I best filter for managed, no-broker-fee buildings on Zillow/Apartments.com?
  • What’s the best way to contact these buildings – through the platforms, directly via their website, or another route?
  • Anything else I should consider or be asking?

Really appreciate any tips or feedback from locals who’ve done this before – massive thanks in advance!
