finally going to not be poor

job finally starts Monday. survived on student loans and summer jobs throughout school so studying left me so incredibly poor all summer. idk how many times I researched Sallie Mae loans, personal loans from other banks, credit cards, etc.. decided to stick it out and not tank my credit. thankful to friends and family for keeping me afloat.

finally made it. thank god. I know some other have to be in the same boat.

Commute to downtown?

Recently moved to Woodlands/Conroe area and starting a job downtown on Monday, so I'm looking at roughly an hour long one way commute every day. Job requires long hours so I'll probably be in the office from around 7 to 7 every day.

Was wondering how many other people just tough it out and make the drive every day, and what that's like on a daily basis? I assume after gas and paying for parking every day it eats into your paycheck more than you'd like.

Alternatively, people have recommended the Woodlands Express. Company will pay for a bus pass, but I don't like not being in control of when I get to work. If anyone has experience with that, I'd like to hear. Thanks.
