Just beat my first DQ Game
Just beat DQ3 Remake last night. Had a lovely time playing through the game. I’ve always been a Final Fantasy fan and never got into DQ. I sunk about 60+ hours into the game and didn’t do absolutely everything I could have. I didn’t finish the Monster arena, I didn’t catch all the monsters and I only got around half the mini medals. I don’t think I missed any content. There was some side quests I looked up before I finished but I suppose there’s some post game stuff from my understanding?
The game itself was quite fun, having never played, I was constantly looking up videos of the original game to see how true a remake or what the game looked like during certain scenes, etc. the visuals of the remake are nice. I love the sprites, I love the design of the world, the humor, etc. the story was simple but great. I loved parts that are unique from other RPG’s like saving important conversations to help you along the way.
I did have a few questions regarding the game which is why I added the spoiler tag. I’m trying to not look things up because I don’t want to spoil too many things for me when I play 1-2.
Since this is the third in the entry but technically the first of the series which is why I played it, at what point did people figure out the twist of the game? I saw people say this game had a huge twist when the game first came out, but having never played previously, I didn’t really notice any? Is it when you get the underworld that you realize that area is from the first two games? Is there a character named Ortega in the first two games? Obviously, there’s also the twist of when you find that one character, but I was kinda expecting it based on talking to NPC’s etc. Just trying to understand the twists contextually since I have no point of reference.
All in all, great game, I’m excited to play through 1-2, along with 11 and 7 and any others that get remade.
