Would you sacrifice your humanity for your happiness? Psychic Fallout OC. Asking for feedback and fan input

I'm writing a narrative for a personal project (quest mod?) and its set in fallout, this is the backstory of the main antagonist (/hero?) and I was wondering how people feel about it.

- Would this character fit within fallout?

- Do you think the character has a noble goal?

- How would you describe the character?

- Would you want to help the character? Why?

- Would you want to play this story?

- Any questions for me?

Below is the whole story, sorry for it being long.

>Character Overview

>Original Name: Archibald (Archie) Collier

>New Name: Rayne (From the Old French “Reine”, meaning Queen)

>Biological Age: 40s

>Physical Age: Early 30s

>Origin: Stockett, Montana — Coal Mining Town

>

>Birth (2239) - 21 (2260)

>Born as Archibald Collier in Stockett, Montana.

>Stockett was a safe town due to the lack of nuclear fallout.

>Due to the lack of direct hits on Montana (its strategic unimportance) and survivors being able to hide underground in mines, it had pockets of civilisation.

>Nearby Stockett was a Brotherhood of Steel outpost (referenced in Elder Lyons’ dialogue in Fallout 3).

>The Brotherhood outpost had oversight of nearby settlements; due to their lack of advanced technology, the Brotherhood did not directly interfere.

>The Brotherhood traded for supplies, most notably coal.

>They were firm with the settlement, ensuring it did not expand or interfere with Brotherhood operations.

>At the age of 21, Archie left Stockett to see what the world had to offer.

>

>21 (2260) - 23 (2262)

>Exploring the states of Montana, Idaho, and parts of Wyoming in his early twenties, Archie sought to help people and find knowledge.

>In 2261, he arrived in New Canaan.

>New Canaan showed him its communal focus and moral structure rooted in Mormon values.

>The Bible inspired him with its longevity and its ability to guide people toward shared values.

>Archie did not become Mormon, but he was impressed and stayed for several months to help the town.

>Upon his departure, he headed north into Idaho and then west, avoiding the territory of the 80s tribe.

>Archie turned 23 shortly before leaving the region.

>

>23 (2262) - 32 (2271)

>Archie travelled through NCR territory, where access to education and larger cities allowed him to gain significant knowledge.

>Archie studied English literature, philosophy, and politics, gaining an understanding of both pre-War and post-War governance.

>During this time, he learned about:

>• The Chosen One and their role in shaping the NCR

>• The rise and fall of the Master, and his attempt at Unity

>Archie wasn't a fan of the master but thought that maybe something the master had or did could be used to make the world better, Unity without people changing into mutants and losing freedom.

>Archie searched for knowledge on the Master and his base, he eventually found it to be the ruins of the Mariposa Military Base, he ventured there to find more answers.

>While exploring the site, Archie was exposed to an airborne FEV strain lingering within the facility

>Feeling increasingly unwell, he attempted to leave, falling unconscious shortly after.

>

>32 (2271)

>Due to genetics, physical resilience, or sheer blind luck, Archie awoke during a rainstorm.

>The FEV had altered him:

>• His intellect increased

>• His body had accelerated healing, causing slowed aging

>• He developed a psychic ability to subtly influence emotion and intent

>Archie immediately sensed that something within him had changed.

>

>32 (2271) - Rebirth

>Archie abandoned his old name, adopting the name Rayne, a link to his "Baptism" and reawakening.

>Rayne embraced a new philosophy:

>To become an idea rather than a man, something people could look toward for guidance.

>He looked to his teachings:

>• New Canaan, where the Bible guided morality for over 2,000 years

>• The NCR, which attempted to resurrect the ideals of the Old World

>Both showed him that ideas outlast individuals.

>

>32 (2271) - 39 (2278)

>Rayne spent the next few years traveling, attempting to improve the world directly.

>He spread knowledge, offered guidance, and subtly used his gift to help people find happiness and emotional stability.

>He stayed in communities until they improved, then moved on.

>Over time, Rayne heard news of these places and realized that their problems often returned after his departure.

>This led him to wonder if true change required permanence.

>Rather than wandering endlessly, Rayne decided to lay the foundations for a lasting settlement, a place that could grow, endure, and preserve peace.

>He made his way toward Vegas, a place beyond full NCR control and in need of guidance.

>

>39 (2278) – 41 (2280)

>Rayne travelled toward New Vegas, helping settlements along the way.

>Within these settlements, he spoke openly about his desire to found a new town. A town that would begin small and only expand once it was strong enough to endure.

>Rayne had learned how deadly major expansion could be by observing the NCR and their difficulties with overexpansion.

>People followed Rayne due to:

>• Travelers disillusioned with NCR bureaucracy

>• Families seeking safety outside established powers

>• Individuals who felt calmer and more grounded in his presence

>Rayne didn’t recruit, simply spread his “gospel”, something inspired from new Cannan.

>Rayne found that after a certain amount of time of someone in his company his powers grew (around a year), if they left, his powers weakened. This led him to fear what his abilities may lead to if he did not learn how to harness them properly.

>Rayne reached the Mojave in early 2280 and developed his settlement. He started small in a more remote location, this allowed him to only have to deal with wildlife as opposed to raiders, it also allowed the town to grow stronger and not suffer from overexpansion.

>Rayne wanted to learn his abilities also which was another benefit of the small size.

>

>41 (2280) – 42 (2281)

>The settlement was founded in early 2280 and built up throughout the year.

>By the beginning of 2281, it was a fully functioning settlement.

>The settlement opened to newcomers at the start of 2281 and Rayne hid away.

>To protect his settlers, Rayne isolated his living quarters within a steel chamber, designed to dampen the reach of his psychic influence.

>Rayne didn’t have a psychic nullifier to help stop his powers, he couldn’t be trusted not to unintentionally harm people.

>Rayne only left this chamber when absolutely necessary.

>When he did, he wore a sealed helmet and mask, further limiting his abilities and preventing his influence from overwhelming individuals.

>Communication with the settlement was handled through:

>• Trusted speakers

>• Written instructions

>• Carefully chosen intermediaries

>Over time, this distance transformed Rayne’s image into one of reverence.

>Rayne allowed them to believe because he had seen what this could lead to in New Cannan, he was of the belief that his faith created stability and peace.

Sorry for long post, please be brutally honest.

TL:DR -
Fallout Character for personal narrative - Guy from Montana finds out about Christianity, gets disillusioned with current governments, gains psychic powers. Guy uses psychic powers to make everyone around him happy and sets up a settlement with the goal of making the world happy and docile.
