Top Insider Buys of the Week (Jul 13-17) - A CEO, a family duo, and a $0.08 stock

1. Akita Drilling (TSX: AKT) — two insiders with the same last name (looks like family) bought a combined $625.8K this week. Biggest buy I saw.

2. Apollo Silver (TSXV: APGO) — the President & CEO and a director together put in $428K at $2.40–2.55/share.

3. Golden Arrow Resources (TSXV: GRG) — a director bought $115K at $0.08/share. Smaller dollar amount but he's bought in before too, not just a one-off.

Energy Fuels (TSX:EFR) — Brand New CEO's First Insider Buy

Ross Bhappu, President & CEO, opened a position from zero — 74,000 shares, $967,920 USD, in a single trade.

Bhappu only took the CEO seat in mid-April, succeeding Mark Chalmers after his 8-year run. This looks like his first open-market buy since stepping in.

Timing stands out: EFR just signed a ~$1.8B deal to acquire Vacuumschmelze (rare earth magnet maker) in late June, and an analyst trimmed their price target days later citing sector weakness. New CEO buying in right after that isn't nothing.

A2 Gold TSXV $AUAU — Director buys $247K today, stock sitting 50% off its highs

Javier Reyes, a director at A2 Gold (TSXV: AUAU), picked up 350,000 shares today at $0.71 CAD for about $247K out of pocket. That's a 175% increase in his position.

What makes it interesting is the backdrop. Over the past few weeks the company has been busy — they completed the acquisition of the Taylor Silver-Gold project in Nevada, consolidated the land package, and earlier in June they hit up to 10.5 g/t gold at their Blackrock target at Eastside. Drill program is active and they're targeting an updated NI 43-101 resource.

Stock is sitting around $0.66–0.71 today, well off the 52-week high of $1.46. Director buying $247K at these levels while the drills are turning is worth paying attention to.

Osisko Metals (TSX: $OM) up 4x since last year and insiders are still buying

Been tracking this one for a while. The Exec. Chairman John Burzynski has bought in January, February, June, July, September, December 2025 — and again this week at $1.57 when it dipped. Started buying at $0.50. Stock is now 3x around $1.70+ and he's still adding.

And it's not just him — the VP Finance, VP Corp Secretary and VP Environment have all bought recently too. That's basically the whole executive floor.

In April they announced a 119% increase in copper metal content at the Gaspé Copper project in Quebec — now one of the largest undeveloped copper-molybdenum deposits in North America at 10.8 billion pounds of contained copper. They also have a copper offtake agreement already in place with Glencore.

Platinum Group Metals (TSX: $PTM) – Director Nearly Doubles His Position at 52-Week Lows

Saw this come through yesterday on SEDI — Director Stuart Harshaw picked up 20,000 shares at $1.89 CAD, about $38K total, bumped his position by 82%.

Stock's been beaten down to 52-week lows and the guy is adding aggressively. Not a huge dollar amount but nearly doubling your stake at the bottom isn't nothing.

TSXV Insider Buy Alert – Intouch Insight (INX.V)

https://preview.redd.it/zkm3u4zup29h1.png?width=1152&format=png&auto=webp&s=0ff44358fd87305555ab3968538e1bea80a81077

Director Eric Beutel just picked up 862,000 shares at $0.32 today for $275,840 — a 59% increase to his position.

What makes this interesting:

Stock is sitting at multi-year lows — you can see on the chart it's near the bottom of a range going back to 2021

This isn't his first buy — he bought 175K shares at $0.33 back in September 2025 too.

For context on the business: Q1 2026 revenue grew 6% with SaaS up 11%. The CEO is intentionally running at a loss to fund expansion into grocery and convenience store verticals — which is why the stock is in the doghouse despite growing revenue. The director buying $275K today suggests he thinks the market is mispricing the growth story.

TSX Insider Buying – Top 3 Trades This Week (June 2026)

Three notable open-market buys on the TSX this week worth flagging:

Sylogist (SYZ) – Director Andrew Shen picked up 689,175 shares at $3.70 for $2.55M. That's a 303% increase to his position. Hard to fake conviction at that size.

Lunr Royalties (LUNR) – Director Adam Lundin added 100,000 shares at $19.76 for $1.97M.

Maple Leaf Foods (MFI) – SVP Joshua Kuehnbaum bought 38,008 shares at $30.75 for $1.17M — 179% position increase. This one stacks Strong Cluster + Repeat signals, meaning multiple insiders buying within a short window and this person has bought before. MFI has now had 4 different insiders buy in June alone.

Valkea Resources (VLK) CEO buys $400K of stock — Finland gold play next to Agnico Eagle's Kittila mine

President & CEO Thomas Credland just bought 1,000,000 shares of Valkea Resources (TSXV:VLK) at $0.40, a 45% increase to his existing position.

A few things that stand out:

  • This isn't a token buy — a 45% position increase from the CEO himself is a real conviction signal, not a routine compensation-related purchase
  • Valkea's flagship Paana project is contiguous to Agnico Eagle's Kittila mine, the largest gold mine in Europe, in Finland's Central Lapland Greenstone Belt — a belt that's also seen Rupert Resources' major discovery and has Kinross and B2Gold operating nearby
  • Finland is an underrated jurisdiction: stable regulatory environment, strong infrastructure, year-round exploration access — a lot of the "frontier risk" you'd associate with other gold belts isn't really present here

Also worth flagging from this week's filings: Advantage Energy (TSX:AAV) had two different insiders buy on the same day (June 16) — VP Brian Bagnell and Chairman John Festival, $20K and $480K respectively. Two different roles buying simultaneously in the same session is generally a stronger signal than either buy alone.
