Google NotebookLM on School Account

If anyone used Google NotebookLM with their UCID email, what did and didn't you like about it? Did you use it for anything related to academics at NJIT?

Which NJIT Student Orgs Aura Farm the Best?

Incoming freshmen likely want to see other people's answers to this question. Whatever aura farming means to you might be different from my interpretation, but I want to know how much each aura each student org has according to how other people see them.

NJIT Is a Commuter School. When Will It Stop?

First of all, congratulations to all of you who just graduated!!!! This is a big accomplishment, and you deserve to feel proud, especially since you probably did a lot of the legwork to achieve your degree.

Second, I don't know how all of you managed to make it to NJIT for in-person and hybrid classes. Some of you can barely afford your car, gas, and insurance, and some of you are hop fares to save that money for food. Kudos to all of you who put in the time, money, and effort to come even if it means cutting corners. I don't know how I'd do it if I lived further away.

Here are my main questions: do y'all think NJIT is going to become less of a commuter school due to gas prices, and if so how much less of a commuter school will it be next year?

Some questions for people who are current or former NJIT students and/or faculty:

  • What does the term "academic rigor" mean to you with respect to course expectations, research expectations, etc. in your area of study?
  • Did you hear someone from admissions or the Provost mention that NJIT is "academically rigorous"? If so, what did you think that the speaker meant by it?
  • What do you believe are qualities of courses in a "rigorous" tech institution (for STEM degree programs)?
  • What do you believe are qualities of degree programs in a "rigorous" tech institution?

I'm several semesters in (undergrad) and feeling like not every undergraduate major is expected to demonstrate the same general, non-technical skill by the time they graduate or by the time an undergraduate student interested in grad school is expected to look for graduate school opportunities. I also want to know how other people feel about the term "academic rigor" in general.

Is the campus-wide printer server down? I know I am using the correct email address when submitting my PDFs to the NJIT print release system, but all last night and this morning my requests had not been fulfilled. Is this happening to other people?
