Weird moment where I realized I’m becoming the “retro game guy”

Had my nephews over this weekend and they spotted my N64 setup in the basement.Thought they’d mess with it for like 10 minutes then go back to Fortnite or something but they ended up playing Mario Party for almost 3 hours straight screaming at each other over minigames lol. One of them asked why old games feel more alive and I weirdly knew exactly what he meant

Made me realize a lot of this hobby isn’t even about rarity anymore. It’s preserving experiences that still somehow hold up even after all these years. Kinda funny too because finding stuff for the collection now feels harder than ever online since you barely get time to look through listings before somebody instantly buys it.

What game do you think would still win over kids today even with no nostalgia attached?
