How can I limited which videos are recommended to my aging father?
My elderly father has Parkinson’s, he’s depressed and he is generally on a mental decline. He spends over half his waking time watching YouTube, and there are times where it is great for him, like when he is rediscovering songs from his youth, but then there are other times where he ends up watching things that reinforce delusions or false beliefs. He used to be such a smart guy and it pains me to see him watching some random AI voice talking to him about aliens or some crazy hateful nonsense.
I don’t like to control what others do, but this is genuinely harming him and it kills me to see it happening. I also feel terrible because it’s my TV and my internet and my FireStick that I set up to help bring him some joy, so I feel at least partly responsible for the current situation.
