SQE1 - need advice how to revise complicated topics and flashcards apps
Hi everyone. Question for those who’ve figured out an effective way to retain the material.
I’ve realised that the more scenario-based subjects seem easier for me. For example, Tort, Criminal Law,, because those are built around identifiable offences/elements. There’s a structure you can apply to facts.
Property Practice also didn’t feel too difficult for me because it’s essentially a continuous transactional process involving land/property, so there’s a logical flow that’s easier to follow and remember.
But Contract Law and Business Law are by far my two hardest subjects.
- How did you actually memorise these kinds of subjects with such a huge amount of information? In Contract, for example, everything from misrepresentation to remedies; in Business, resolutions, directors’ duties, company procedures, insolvency rules, and so on.
When I identify weak areas, I naturally go back to reading, but I’m still not sure what the best way is to actually lock that information in so it reliably comes back during questions.
Did you rely on simply memorising core rules? Constant question practice? Diagrams/tables? Flashcards? A wrong answer journal?
Would be really interested to hear what genuinely worked for you for these more information-heavy subjects.
- You the best choice in Flashcards app (mobile or laptop).
Many thanks friends!
