Where The Humans Eat. Love the way this was recorded "live" to capture the sound. The whole album (apart from the song Oxygen was done that way) he refused to do multiple takes too to keep the sound and feel authentic. Add the fact he's an absolute gentleman and always tours with a great band.
youtu.be👀👀 given the maestro behind the kit for the whole had the surname Moon, I can sneak in the amusing fact that that was also the maiden name of Buzz Aldrin's mum!!! 🤘
I already had the album at the time but this was the first song I heard when I got home after the birth of one of my sons in 2006, it wasn't until I learned to play it (and sing really badly) in 2017, that I managed to get through the song without (happy) tears
youtu.beYou'd think it had been written with Rod Stewart (no, before he asked if you thought he was sexy) in mind. Just love the feel of the whole thing. A case of when Aussie met Rod.
I went to the phoenix festival in Stratford upon Avon in '96 it was an epic lineup, Bowie, Bjork, the sex pistols, look up the full list if you don't already know, anyway out of the blue there was an announcement for a special guest set from............... Margarita Pracatan, the crazy Cuban singer I was very familiar with from watching Clive James with my folks when I was a kid. Blew the sex pistols out the water 😂😂😂
I then listened to the mike watt version and was utterly dumbfounded as to how he could think the Funkadelic version was the cover 😂😂😂
I snuck under the stage looking at a bon jovi gig in the UK, 2008 I think, anyway in my search for a suitable surface for a little R N R, I came across a bloke sat Infront of a stack of monitors and various elements of a guitar rig, guitar in hand I said funny place to stick the guitar tech, he told me he wasn't the tech, he was there to play the live solos while Richie sambora jumped off speakers and generally tested the strength of his Spandex, I wasn't a fan to begin with but that just disgusted me 🫣🤘
Lost so many pics over the years, will find more as I dig through 20 years of clutter
That festival also included Jeff Beck and a few other goodies, upon seeing the full list I have no recollection of a few of them, including Westlife and the Darkness 👀
This was when I was 16, scat opera were an English band that supported the mighty Mordred on some of the UK tour, I've just found this bettered mess and instantly remembered how epic that night was 🤘🤘🤘
Maybe a bit left field but I assure you it's my dad! And if anyone is unsure he's the one who plays his guitar the right way round 🙃
