Went to a hiring event for a hospital system this morning, and I was one of the first ones there, 15 minutes before it started. I was called up and asked if I wanted to interview for PCU or MS and I said PCU. I had my interview and it went great, they took me upstairs and I shadowed a girl for over an hour..everything was perfect. The Director gave me every impression in the book that I was going to be offered the job. He takes me back downstairs and he says have a seat, I’m going to get the CNO for you. I wait there for another hour, and by now it’s 1:45. I’m tired, I haven’t eaten, and I’m thirsty. The director comes by and says they haven’t seen you yet? I said no, not yet. He says let me go get her, I don’t want you to have to wait too long. Here comes somebody from HR they tell me to follow them and I have a seat at a table with a woman, I thought was going to be the CNO..it’s an impromptu interview for MS that I wasn’t prepared for. At the end I told her I was just a bit confused because I had already interviewed, shadowed, and was waiting for the CNO. She told me “Oh, that director doesn’t have any positions open so I’m not sure why you shadowed and everything.” I got out of there so fast before my jaw could hit the floor.
I’m honestly so mad more for the wasted time and feeling like an idiot. I just need to vent, thanks for reading if you did.
