Flanders, Stevoort - Ice cream shop 't Kremmeke, accepts only cash or Wero. No debit or credit cards. Even not the domestic Belgium Bancontact debit card.

About 50 Wero transactions, became missing and weren't received on the merchants bank account. Customers were requested to again pass by and do another try to pay for their ice creams.

UPDATE JUNE 7th.: It has now become known, that the ice cream shop has been compensated for the lost revenues. The payment service provider which offers the Wero payment service to this merchant, has arranged that the ice cream shop was compensated for the service disruption.

1. Luxembourg's Payconiq-to-Wero transition now has entered its active brand alignment phase. Wero branding now appears across bank apps and merchant communications.
2. Existing Payconiq merchants (initially) contracted directly with the scheme, are being transferred to PSP Buckaroo for onboarding and technical updates on Wero.
3. The standalone Wero app launches for Luxembourg customers in July 2026. Payconiq and Wero will run in parallel from July through September. Payconiq is definitively discontinued from October 2026. Wero then becomes the sole mobile payment solution in the Luxembourg market.
