I read a series of books about 10 years ago. The cover was black and I’m pretty sure had a guitar on the front for one of the books.. it was about a romance whether the guy was in a band that eventually got famous. I think his name started with a K. From what I remember, the girls mother died and there was a scene with the two of them folding origami stars to fill a jar.

I know this isn’t much information, but it’s been plaguing me lately !
