Powai after Shradh rituals. Is this what civic responsibility looks like?
Visited Powai and was honestly disappointed to see the amount of garbage left behind after the Shradh rituals. Plastic, discarded items, and waste scattered across the area. Whatever the occasion or tradition, how is leaving a public place in this condition acceptable?
I respect everyone's religious beliefs, but faith and cleanliness should go hand in hand. Our city is already struggling with waste management, and leaving more garbage behind only makes things worse for everyone. Celebrating or observing a tradition shouldn't mean making the surroundings someone else's problem.
Mumbai belongs to all of us. We can't keep demanding a cleaner city while contributing to the very mess we complain about. Can we not practise our traditions while also taking responsibility for the waste we leave behind?
Ps: Don't come and say you don't tell this during other festivals n all. Just accept it y'all 🫠
