I’m a 22F with hypopituitarism after two pituitary macroadenoma removals. As a result I have adrenal insufficiency, hypothyroidism, and hyperactive kidneys.
I’m going on a two week trip to Asia this week and I was curious if anyone has any travel advice for adrenal insufficiency. Doctors have recommended doubling my dose while flying, for the first few days of my trip, and when flying back. They also suggested I could slightly increase my regular dosage by 5-10mg for the entirety of the trip if I feel it’s needed.
Curious if anyone has advice on the following questions:
How long do you find you need to double your dose for? Would you increase your dose for the entire trip? How does a 12 hour time difference impact when you take your meds through the day?
Any other general advice for easier travel with this condition would be great!
