DARLING in the FRANXX — Season 2 Years have passed since the events of the original story. Hiro and Zero Two are reborn as humans, living ordinary lives without remembering who they once were. One day, Hiro hears a girl behind him quietly say: “Darling…” Hiro freezes. He slowly turns around. Zero Two is standing there, tears running down her face. She doesn't understand why she's crying. Hiro looks at her—and suddenly, memories begin flooding back. The plantation. The FranXX. Their battles. Their first meeting. Their promise. Their final moments together. And then they remember everything. Hiro: “Zero Two…” Zero Two: “Darling…” They run toward each other and embrace, crying because they finally found each other again. This time, they promise: “We're never letting each other go.” The Second Battle Hiro and Zero Two begin growing up together, finally experiencing the normal life they never had. But their peaceful life doesn't last. A new threat appears. VIRM has returned. This time, humanity and the Klaxosaurs stand together. Hiro and Zero Two return to battle—not because they have to sacrifice themselves, but because they want to protect the future they finally have. The final battle becomes the biggest and most intense fight they've ever faced. Every member of the old team fights together. The battle seems impossible. But this time, nobody gives up. Hiro and Zero Two fight side by side until the very end. Together, they defeat VIRM. And for the first time, there is no tragic sacrifice. Everyone survives. The Life They Deserved After the war, Hiro and Zero Two finally live peacefully. Two years later, their greatest dream comes true. Hiro and Zero Two have a baby. ❤️ They hold their newborn child together, both crying with happiness. Zero Two looks at Hiro. Zero Two: “Darling… what should we name him?” Hiro smiles. They choose a name that represents the new future they fought so hard to protect. Now they aren't soldiers. They aren't pilots. They aren't weapons. They're simply parents. As their child grows, Hiro and Zero Two take care of him, watching his first steps, hearing his first words, and creating all the memories they never got to have themselves. Years later, they walk together toward a school. Their child stands at the entrance, ready for his first day. Zero Two holds Hiro's hand. Hiro smiles. Their child turns around and waves. “Bye, Mom! Bye, Dad!” Hiro and Zero Two wave back. They watch their child walk into school. Zero Two rests her head on Hiro's shoulder. Hiro looks at her and smiles. They finally have the life they always deserved. The camera slowly pulls away. The school bell rings.
Secret Ending The school gates close behind their child. Hiro and Zero Two walk home together, holding hands. Everything is peaceful. The camera slowly fades to black. For a few seconds, there is complete silence. Then Zero Two suddenly stops walking. Hiro looks back. Hiro: “Zero Two? What's wrong?” Zero Two looks toward the sky. She hears a faint voice. ???: “...I'm not dead yet.” Zero Two's eyes widen. Her smile disappears. Zero Two: “Darling…” Hiro turns toward her. Hiro: “What?” Zero Two looks terrified.
