Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some insight or similar experiences regarding the timeline after a marriage-based green card interview.

I had my interview at the San Bernardino Field Office on April 29th. The officer was very kind and verbally approved me on the spot! He mentioned it would take about 2 to 3 weeks to receive the card in the mail. He even had to retake my photo because the previous one wasn’t uploading correctly to the system.

I asked for a physical approval letter, but he said he didn’t have anything like that to provide at the moment.

The Timeline So Far:

  • April 29: Interview and verbal approval.
  • April 30: One status update in the evening.
  • Current Status: It still says "Case is being actively reviewed by USCIS."

I know it’s only been about a week, but the "Actively Reviewing" status is making me a bit nervous since I was told I was approved.

My Questions:

  1. Has anyone else interviewed at the San Bernardino office recently? How long did it take for your status to change to "New Card is Being Produced"?
  2. Is it common for the status to stay on "Actively Reviewing" for a while even after a verbal approval?
  3. Does the photo retake usually cause a slight delay in the card production?

I'd appreciate any shared experiences or words of encouragement! Thanks in advance!
