Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some insight or similar experiences regarding the timeline after a marriage-based green card interview.
I had my interview at the San Bernardino Field Office on April 29th. The officer was very kind and verbally approved me on the spot! He mentioned it would take about 2 to 3 weeks to receive the card in the mail. He even had to retake my photo because the previous one wasn’t uploading correctly to the system.
I asked for a physical approval letter, but he said he didn’t have anything like that to provide at the moment.
The Timeline So Far:
- April 29: Interview and verbal approval.
- April 30: One status update in the evening.
- Current Status: It still says "Case is being actively reviewed by USCIS."
I know it’s only been about a week, but the "Actively Reviewing" status is making me a bit nervous since I was told I was approved.
My Questions:
- Has anyone else interviewed at the San Bernardino office recently? How long did it take for your status to change to "New Card is Being Produced"?
- Is it common for the status to stay on "Actively Reviewing" for a while even after a verbal approval?
- Does the photo retake usually cause a slight delay in the card production?
I'd appreciate any shared experiences or words of encouragement! Thanks in advance!
