First things first, if you don't know what a family compound is, it's basically one piece of land where the family lives in separate houses. And for the one I'm looking into, it's Found Family, not Blood Family. It will be my 3-person household and a few separate 2-person households. We've all been talking very seriously about this for over a year, and now it's time to start actually getting things in motion.
We know we need to go into this with a written contract. One of the other households has already spoken to a lawyer and asked basic "what do we need, what do you suggest" big picture questions, and one of the suggestions they were given is that each household needs their own separate lawyer to be able to lay out our needs, our limits, what happens when we die, etc etc etc. So we can go into sorting out the contract and what is fair for everybody and all that jazz.
Here is my problem. What kind of lawyer do I need for this? There are so many different specialties that I've seen and it's gotten a little overwhelming. If anyone can help me out with this, it would be a huge help. Not looking for A Lawyer, I just need to know what specialty I need so I can find someone in my area. And maybe a ballpark of what that is going to cost.
